I see quite a few articles, comments, and posts about business owners should pay their staff a livable wage. I also see articles about tipping fatigue (consumers being hit up for tips in places where they were not before, and being presented with the bill on a tablet while the server is watching you sign the bill.
Suppose restaurants and bars increased their prices 20% or even 30% and changed the waitstaff pay to $15 or $20 an hour. Would that work? Yes? No? If no, why not? What would you want the pay to be?
Would servers and bartenders be happy working without tips? In other words, would your pay without tips ($15-$20/hr) match what you are currently earning with tips per hour?
