Back when I worked at jack in the box a water line broke during a snow storm. 3 inches of water throughout the restaurant and none of the uppers would answer. I closed down and locked up and left. I texted my coworkers to let them know what had happened. The next day at 6am I get a phone call from my manager asking why I left and why I didn’t call anyone and why i needed to close. After some words they said they had to let me go. I ended it with “I was gonna quit this piece of shit job next week anyways.” (I already had a job lined up, and was so fed up that I didn’t care about a 2 week notice.
Fast food is just to gain some fluff for a resume. Build relationships with your team leads or coworkers. Put them for references not your managers.
