My boss doesn’t want me pressing charges on a customer that assaulted me.

Hi! I (19F) was physically assaulted at my restaurant job on Thursday. My manager had to kick the person out of the restaurant, and opened an investigation to get the person’s information so that they may never come back. When I asked for this information and mentioned my intention to press charges, my manager stated “we would really rather you not do that” and refused to give me the information. It just doesn’t sit right with me. I know they are supposedly not allowing the person to come back, but I feel that by them not letting me press charges, they’re basically saying they are okay with me being assaulted. Does anyone have insight on a situation like this? Thanks in advance!
