I was supposed to move into a full-time role in May but my boss never started the process in advance despite knowing how long it takes for a promotion to process through HR. It'll be August tomorrow and I still haven't heard anything from anyone – they could even extend it through September who knows. This position was listed as a 1 year fixed term in my offer letter and they've effectively extended it by almost 50% while making me take on FTE responsibilities and paying me minimum wage…. is this legal? Would I have any grounds to negotiate for a higher salary when the promotion finally gets offered? The ongoing delays are having a huge impact on my life.
