Context:
Our HR is not located at the dealership. Company policy is a paid holiday replaces the scheduled day off that week. It has always been. Prior when techs took their day off during a week like this, he’d call n tell them to come in. I came in on my day off bc of thanksgiving this week. My coworkers (who are all new hires bc he ran everyone off) were like “why are you here on a Monday? I’m taking my day off”. SD refuses to answer simple yes/no question.
I think his angle is “let’s see if I can get her twisted enough to throw a wrench so [stooge service advisor] will tell me about it. Then, I can fire her on her day off” (this happened to our foreman, “expressing anger in the shop”. now we have no foreman and the stooge was promoted to assistant SD for tattling)
Tech: Do holidays still replace the day off?
SD: I am CC [offsite HR rep] on this email to further assist with questions on holiday days off etc.
Tech: She is unavailable. [her outlook status says unavailable]
Was I supposed to be here today?
SD: You have access to the schedule, you have worked this same schedule for months. The link to the schedule was sent in an email, if you did not receive the link please let me know and I can send it again.
[provides several screenshots with arrows illustrating how to look at the schedule]
SD: I updated the schedule to reflect your approved days off. [shows screen shot of next weeks schedule for PTO approved weeks ago]
Me: I know what the schedule says! [it says I am off today] People are asking me why I am here today bc I’m usually off. We have that policy that paid holiday replaces the scheduled day off, that’s why I came in. I’m asking if this is no longer the rule?
Are you saying I can go home now?
[i clock out and go home]
SD: Are you asking if you are going to get paid for thanksgiving day?
