He was hospitalized for heat stroke and still felt compelled to do clerical work from home, even though he could delegate to us work smurfs. The company keeps gassing him up about how his work ethic is so good, how all the other managers can't hold a candle to him across the franchise.
One day I joked about my 7 day work week because I picked up a bunch of extra shifts so I could get some life stuff paid for. He paused, seeing how tired I already looked and then confessed to me he's burning out.
He'd 100% come in and do a shift without pay because one of us was too sick. It just makes my blood boil. Functionally he takes home less in a week than I do since he's salaried and I'm not.
I just wanted to vent here because he's such a bro, but the company takes people like him and uses them up.
