So my boss is on a roll about getting everyone back into the office. We are a small marketing company in a 2,000 square foot office. As if 3 Covid cases in the past 6 months with 4 in-person employees wasn’t enough! He is offering them a 2% raise to come back at least 3 days a week to promote “innovation and collaboration”. He is obsessed with this vision of having all of our employees sitting around the board room brainstorming and bouncing ideas off of each other.
I think this is so dense though. All of our employees live over 30 minutes away from the office. A 2% raise won’t even cover gas costs (we all make under $55k) and I’m the only one who sees it. They are actually losing money! There are people actually taking him up on his offer. Heck, I’d take a 5% pay cut if I could work from home.
