For the last 3 months I've been working as a sys admin for a small bank. I took the job initially cause I needed money and was laid off from a government contract for 6 months. At first the job was pretty chill, but after a few weeks in, I found that I inherited a hellscape of band-aids fixes in a system of road blocks that turns 15 mins of work into 3 hours. There's so many things that need to be fixed and the team we have is tiny. The headache and stress of it all is ruining my happiness and my mental wellbeing. I was offered a job making the same amount of money for a company that I can work from home, with a 10% annual bonus, and I took the offer. However, when I took the the offer, my boss went on vacation for a week. Today is my last day here and I'm not sure how to give my resignation. I'm thinking of just going straight to HR and telling them I'm not coming back on Monday. I guess I'm mainly looking for advice on how to do this thing.
