My boss is on vacation with her family. She emailed me at night, in the middle of her vacation, asking for a detailed list of the tasks I’ve been completing while she’s gone.

How did we get to a place where people on vacation feel that they can’t even really be on vacation? What kind of example does this set for your employees and your kids? Why are you thinking about micromanaging a “top performing” employee when you’re on vacation with your family? Corporate / hustle culture is incredibly toxic and, quite frankly, an unimaginative way of leading a team. I’m over it.
