To keep it vague and simple I recently started taking over a position for an extended period of time. The person I am taking over for would be there Monday-Friday as required by the company to complete everyday and assigned tasks. The job is basically lumped together with a group that has nothing to do with it. My boss respected this person’s schedule and genuinely listened to anything they would say.
I’m not sure what changed but this person had less than two weeks to train me and I literally had to argue with our boss EVERYDAY to schedule me for training because they would schedule me like 1-2 days in the week otherwise.
Now that I finally am doing the position they are scheduling me only 3 days for the position because they are under this assumption that I’m not busy some of the days. But I am required to do tasks everyday between Monday-Friday. Now I could have someone do them but basically no one knows how to and the one person that somewhat does is applying for another position.
So it’s clear I’m being set up for failure. My boss is the most unapproachable person you could work for. They’re literally rude and condescending over basic things and important things. Need something fixed ? You’re getting attitude for it
Now I could go over their head on this and rat them out, because I don’t have any respect for someone that treats their employees like garbage. Or I could keep confronting them on this IDK
Does anyone have advice on this? Am I being set up for failure as I assume?
I do enjoy this job but I’m being held back and put in a spot where I don’t even want to show up anymore
