So a couple weeks ago on a Sunday I came across a dog, running loose in the woods next a public park. My wife and I were able to convince her out of the woods. The next day on Monday I made an appointment at 3:45 to take her to the vet because she was very malnourished. Had some weird looking rib issue and needed to be tested for parasites. I tell my boss they scheduled a meeting for 3:30. Then get onto me the next day in the office about missing work due to personal matters. I missed an hour and 15 minutes of work that day.
Then, on Friday, I used PTO for four hours, because unexpectedly, I had an opening where I was able to take her to get her spayed for free. I was just told today a week later this was not OK and that I didn’t need to be using company time for my personal time even though I used PTO and that they’re going to be talking to HR about next steps, so I think I’m getting fired for rescuing a dog and barely using any work time to take care of it
Following up now, the story is changing to your deadlines haven’t been met, which I’ve only missed one deadlines. I’ve been at the company and that was due to a Hyperion Financial management outage.
This sucks so much. I thought I finally found a job that didn’t blow but it really really does. I’m so depressed now.
Additionally, I live in Texas we’re experiencing that arctic blast where it’s 16° outside. The dog would’ve been dead already by now so I saved the dogs life.
