I’ve been working at a franchised corporate store as their hourly general manager for about 4 months. I get blown up all times of day/night for mundane things from the owner. He has also directed all employees to contact me after hours for any small, minor inconvenience (a machine making a weird noise/any schedule issue/etc). He even text me a negative yelp review at 10pm on a Sunday as I was laying in bed. He expects me to work 6 days a week and on my off day/hours wants me to “pop in” here and there just to make sure everything’s running ok. I have no clue if this is legal (CA) but I’m getting tired of constantly not being able to relax and having my brain focused on work everyday.
