I have been at a position at a church for a year. I am a private person and only log on to Facebook when someone in my family passes away or rarely, during holidays.
I do not attend this church. The job I work is 10 hours a week. I answer the phone, pay some bills, and get out.
Recently my boss asked me if I have Facebook to which I replies yes, but I am only on for emergencies. My uncle just passed away and he knows this because he is a Pastor who is also a licensed therapist and we have talked about it.
He said he wants me to start updating the Facebook page for the church since it is out of date. He told me “I just sent you an invite to accept” and I was told to accept this on my mobile phone.
I don't know if I was tired from all the grieving or just not in the mood to argue, but I accepted it not really knowing why he can't just give me the real password to log in at work from my work computer.
Now, I am sitting here at 5am on a Saturday off and am receiving notifications from the church page to my mobile phone. I also am to upload photos using my phone every Monday and can't deactivate my Facebook or I lose access.
I only used Facebook once a year, if that.
How do I politely tell him I'm not having any of this?
