My boss once forbade the employees from saying “because that’s what you told me to do.”

My boss has several layers of frustration. The first layer is that her orders are often nonsensical and obviously bad ideas. The second level of frustration is when she forgets her previous orders and asks why we're doing it, often with an accusatory tone. My boss once held a meeting with typed up meeting notes. One of the bullet points was “Do not say that I told you do it that way. When you say that, it makes me feel bad.” My boss, who constantly contradicts herself, literally told her employees that they're not allowed to point this out, because it makes her feel bad. So, we're just supposed to get in trouble for doing exactly what she told us to so, because she forgot that she told us to do it.
