So yesterday was my last day working at a summer camp (the best job I’ve had thus far) and while chilling with my coworkers in the office at the end of the day, we noticed a time sheet filled out in my boss’s handwriting with her daughters name. It says that she worked 8-4 every single day when we knew for a fact that she came in for only 2 hours on Thursday. If this has been happening all summer, that’s around $6,000 that could have gone back into the camp (which is non profit and definitely needs the financial help).
And it’s not like the daughter needs the money. She drives a Maserati and owns her own business.
We showed our other boss the time sheet and he promptly ripped it out of the binder, crumpled it up, and threw it in the trash.
I’m gonna be working at the school that runs the camp this fall so I don’t know if we should bring it up or call her (my boss) out on it. Up until discovering this, I thought she was an amazing boss but now I’m having second thoughts. Maybe it would be hypocritical of me to call her out bc she helped me out similarly a few weeks ago (I had to take a day off for my lease signing and she paid me for the entire day).
I’m very conflicted about this. I’ve known my boss since I was a toddler and used to be best friends with her daughter when we were kids. I mean, my boss is nicer to me than my own mother but this just isn’t fair, and I’m pretty sure is illegal too.
