My Boss Said That I Shouldn’t Use The Small Heather Because It Costs Him Too Much Money

Greetings from Germany. I have a boss that many people here is used to I guess. I'm working at a local car dealership and as the title suggests this is what my millionaire boss who is the owner of the company at the same time said to me. I am running the sales operations of the company and I use our ground floor as my station. I run around all day walking around 30k step everyday. But we don't have any kind of heating or ventilation system whatsoever because the area is basically too big and I am not worth installing a system so I don't get freezed to death or poisoned from the tyres he puts to sell in winter time.

And the winter in Germany is no joke. We see -20c° regularly and my work place goes down to 3-4 degrees. So he suggested that there is a small heater I could use it to warm up my hands lol. So I have been using it in the last 3 winters. Also I have been working here for 4 years.

During this time we have not doubled but tripled our sale numbers. Which meant my work load sky rocketed, 3 times more sales reflects to me as 6 times more work and the average profit margin has 40 percent up as well on the cars we sell.

So long story short, he is swimming in money. But today when I was doing things somewhere else and he needed something from my desk. And he saw the heater running. When I came back I saw it was unplugged. I immidiately understood what happened and I prepared word in my head because I knew he would say some bullshit explanation when we bump into each other.

He didn't suprise me and said the spring is coming soon maybe you can keep it off because it costs too much money to him the thermometer is literally showing 9c°.

Don't worry I replied accordingly and I still use it as I please. Because I am the only one doing what I do and if I leave they will need not only one but 2 employees to hire. But of course he can save about 3 euros everyday by keeping the heater off…

Up to this point I didn't leave because the pay was good and cost of living was relatively ok. But with all the inflation and no raise at all, the pay is not good anymore.

The good news is that I have completed the interview process and am waiting for an offer from a company that I want to work so much. Not only that, it is also WFH.

Some days I felt guilty because of leaving but after today I don't give a shit at all and can't wait for the day I will give my notice.
