Basically I just needed to rant my frustration. I’m going to leave out some specific details just in case.
I’ve worked at a local counter service restaurant for over a year and have mostly enjoyed my time there. I work the front counter which often involves closing and counting cash. I got a text from my boss regarding some missing money ($40) from the till, we always have a paper lip of $100 worth of $5 bills, and it was short. I told him that I don’t know what happened and didn’t touch them. He later sent an email to all my coworkers mentioning the missing money, before even checking to make sure it wasn’t a cash out error, basically stating that there was money missing from one of the two days I closed, implying that I was a fault.he then threaten to take the money out of our tips! Which is illegal and a coworker called him out. I am lucky that I have good coworkers who will support me.
Honestly through all of this I have felt embarrassed and insulted. I have never stolen anything and it feels really shitty that my manager who I have gotten along well with could think this way about me.
