To further elaborate, I was a barista for this guy for 8 months too long. He would put a $3/hour cap on my tips, take tips whenever he “worked,” (he’ll maybe take 5 orders then sit at a table and eat a pastry) and not pay me for 15 hours that I worked each week. My partner who worked with me, finally quit today. We did some dissecting of our paystubs, and it turns out we’re missing up to $145 in tips for nearly all pay periods.
I’m waiting for an interview with BOLI next week to get the legal ball rolling, meanwhile this guy cooks vegan and nonvegan food on the same surfaces, same with GF and glutinous foods. Absolutely ashamed that I worked there, but I can only leave so many google reviews with fake names. Anyone want to call him out on his tomfoolery? TIA
