My boss just had a meeting with me and my coworker (it's just us two main office staff and the doctors we work with) about cutting our hours because the office is slowing down and he is “bleeding financially” (we had no indication this was an issue), and they aren't bringing in enough money (my boss just opened two new facilities in the last few months).
My boss said either both of us had to drop a day per week. Or one of us could go down to three. He told us to make the decision ourselves because he didn't want to micro manage us. Like that's his job you know? Even after repeatedly asking him to just tell us what to do, his only response was I hate having to do things like this. This is my fault. Again what?
So my coworker has a kid and is financially struggling badly, she started crying because she knew she couldn't afford to lose the few hundred dollars a month. I'm not financially well off either. So it's messed up for him to make us make that horrible decision. I ended up taking the three days so she could stay full time, I'm super stressed and it's bad timing for me. My boss has three houses and two Mercedes he just bought, he's so out of touch with what it's like for some people.
