I had a big crash on my mountain bike yesterday. One of the biggest I've had in years. I've been biking for 20 years, so this is nothing new. But I'm 32 now so I can't just get up like nothing happened anymore.
I called my boss yesterday around noon to tell him I wasn't coming in today. I rested all day. My wife came home around 4 and I started making dinner like I said I would and that's when I realized I wasn't going to be working tomorrow either. I phoned my boss around 5 to inform him and he said something that really put me off. “So you did something on your time off and now it's costing me money”.
Ya man. I did. And I'm going to Whistler in June so you need to be prepared for the possibility of me breaking my arm and being out for 6 weeks. I'm not a reckless rider, but I'm also not making a single decision based on whether or not it might prevent me from working.
