I am a student. I work part time during the week end to earn money alongside college.
I obviously don't have a lot of work experience so maybe it is why I take this to much by heart.
I enrolled for this job 1 month ago. I was surprised how easily it was to fit in. They were really nice with me.
They proposed me to join them for a bowling night on thursday. I accepted and they added me on the whatsapp group.
Later on somebody asked if the bowling was still on the program and suddenly they all said “oh sorry as their is one member of the team who organizes his leaving party, we will all go to this” and they cancelled the bowling
The following day, they start to plan the night on the group. I kindly asked them If i can join them as I didn't know the collegue who was organizing his party and wasn't invited.
None answered and to this day I still have no answer. I even apologized on the group saying “maybe i was innapropriate asking if i could join uninvited, sorry for the inconvenience” and noone answered to me.
Each week end they are still nice to me when i go to work but it seems I was totally rejected from their group outside of the work. They are nice only to keep a professional attitude.
In my work ( I work at the zoo) we have different tasks to perform during the day. We can be at the cash desk, we can be in the park walking, we can help people and control the animations.
I noticed that during the entire month, i never was at the cash desk. It is the most peaceful place , as you are sitted all day, the room is air conditioned, you can discuss with your collegues… It is always the same people who are there, and those are the people who gets along with the staff team which makes the plannings for the next week and those are the same people who they hang out with.
I am disgusted by all this hypocrisy, people have told me they spend their time talking behind the back of other collegues when they are at the cash desks room. They organize every week parties and stuff and as i was ignored i can't join them.
Hopefully this is a time limited contract and i will be leaving by the end of august.
