my company is forcing return to office

I asked my manager why. She said “it's because they want us to have more opportunities for team building and human connection”. So I asked “are they going to give us more time away from the phone and the desks to do that” She replied “no, your duties and schedule will be the same” “So it's not about team building or human connection then.” My manager, managers manager and so on up the levels of the chain of command are completely against this return to office. The real reason you want to force us to return is because you rented out a fancy and expensive office building and you don't have the balls to just shut it down. Stop trying to dress return to office up like it's whats “best for us”.
