Title. Basically my department is getting a new interface for data entry using the Google platform. The excuse is that it’s a “streamlined, efficient” version of what we have. They’re rolling it out over the next few weeks but there are so many bugs that it’s basically unusable. The UI is a horrible, unnavigable mess. The technician the company sent to help us get started knows nothing and has an excuse for every problem. The new program turned an hour or two of work into a day-long ordeal of trial and error and error and error.
We have a perfectly good (albeit ancient) program we used for data entry for YEARS that worked just fine. I don’t know why we needed the new program so soon when it’s pretty much in its alpha phase. We’ve only been using it since yesterday and I already want to quit this job.
