Like wtf. Now, it really isn't that much more, but it's an extra 25c an hour!
This is a cold beer and wine store in BC. It's all minimum wage, unless you have certified knowledge on product with a certificate.
3 people have been there for a year plus, and they make minimum wage. I haven't been there for long, just 4 months, and I make minimum wage.
But brand new hires off the street? 16 an hour. 2 of my employees just got their “after 1000 hours” raises (15c an hour) but they had to fight for it and it took MONTHS after their 1000 hours because they had to fight for it.
Before I came along I found out that the company makes it nearly impossible to check pay stubs. WTF? Like you can only access them through a program that is totally broken and never works! There were people there for years who NEVER received one!
Two of them paid shittons of taxes because they never realized the company never took them off in the first place.
I always worked hard and busted my ass. I literally replaced 3 people when I started.
But now I'm gonna try this quiet quitting thing.
Thanks for listening!
