My company suddenly wants me to take on the role of HR and recruitment on top of my standard duties when it’s completely unrelated to my career. How do I proceed with this info?

Do I ask for a raise to accommodate this new and unrelated duty? Is this scope creep? I’m busy enough as it is and I’m unsure how I’ll be able to take on such a huge task/role. Help!
