My coworker had an immediate family member pass away…they are rich but we are being asked to donate

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this situation. I have a coworker who lost an immediate family member suddenly and unexpectedly. Tragic loss. We are being asked to each donate $100 to the coworker in addition to asking to donate PTO time. I have no PTO to donate, nor would I ever, cause I use a bunch of mine for when my child is sick. I know that the coworkers husband has an incredibly successful business and they are millionaires many times over. My coworker drives a 100k vehicle. How can I get out of donating without sounding like a bad employee. The whole “work family” thing is big here and I hate it.
