I used to have a coworker who was so dedicated to work. She worked from 6am to 6pm and would take work with her to home. She also worked on weekends. She got a few people fired because my boss and leadership expected everyone to work as hard as her. She would snitch to our bosses about how lazy and behind everyone was. Of course, two of her husbands divorced her during my time I knew her. She would bring work when she was at weddings or football games. It was so weird.
Anyway, leadership praised her for working so much. We all left due to her. Because the department was so understaffed, she couldn’t deliver the results. Then they fired her on the spot due to not meeting expectations. When I found out, I sent her a text because I found it funny given she was so problematic and thought she was a hero. She called me and started crying. I felt no empathy because this lady has tried to get me fired before for not working on weekends. I laughed when she was telling me about how they wanted her out in five minutes and she had so many person items. They escorted her. She was frustrated with me laughing so I told her I needed to urgently leave and hung up.
