My dad has been working for a carpentry company for 20 years and yesterday they suddenly cut his pay and want him to voluntarily quit so he doesn’t get unemployment benefits.

His boss told him that he only makes $500 a week, so he shouldn’t complain about the pay cut. To me, that smells like bullshit. There is no way you could own luxury cars and houses with just $500 a week. I overheard him saying that the company planned on hiring people for 6 months and then firing them so they couldn’t get the union benefits to, “cut costs.”
