Hi, this is my first time posting here after a long time watching. I decided I should post today because of the stress my work has been putting me through, and I don't know if it's me or the managment which is the issue. Two nights ago both of my dogs were hit by a car, neither of them survived. I learned this at about 11:30 and had to come home from a friends house I was staying at. I was distraught my sister was distraught, and emotionally in pieces. After a long time of trying to regain control of emotions I was able to text my work groupchat and tell them I couldn't come in for my shift in the morning or the day after because I didn't feel well enough, and was dealing with a lot of stress and grief.(I work with people so this is very important for my job and performance). My manager said she was apologetic, but I still needed to find a replacement for my shift. No surprises I wasn't able to, and so our assisstant manager called me to let me know that it counted as a no call, no show. Due to the business also being very small the owner called me and told me he was sorry, but we all have responsibilities in life and I just needed to suck it up for a day or two and come in for my shift, if I couldn't find someone. My girlfreind also works with me, so she tried to call in for me but she could only come in a about 2-3 hours after the shift started, and My manager very much did not like that, so this morning my girlfriend and I were both put in a groupchat with our manager and the busniess owner where the manager tried to guilt trip us for them possibly having to come in for the shift and close for the night. I can't deal with this, my dogs just died and my entire management team has just been telling me to get over it, and it happens sometimes.
