I'm a third world resident. I go to university (2nd year econ) and work 2 jobs: the first one as a journalist/columnist, the second as a ghost-writer. My dad is an electronic cigarettes repairman and salesman and I often help him out at the office. I'm only 20 and earn more than my parents, which isn't much, by the way, and it's nothing to be proud about.
Nevertheless, I still feel that my efforts are worthless. My country is in shambles, the banks gave away my family's life savings to the government, I have 2 hours of electricity per day, and the currency is losing its value every day. The best thing is that I can't do anything about it. All I know is that I plan on pursuing my master's degree in France, which is, to be completely honest, my dream. Then again, I am very uncertain, even skeptical, about the future.
I really don't feel like working anymore. At this point I'm doing it just to make my parents proud. I don't go out, don't drink, don't smoke, don't party, or anything. I wake up at 5:30 AM and spend my time working, studying, and reading. By 11 PM, I'm already sleeping like a baby. Not so extravagant, but it's still something.
