my employer is trying to keep me, but not trying to pay me what i deserve.

i work in trucking, an industry notorious for high turnover and burnout rates. i have zero desire to do more work than need be. i found a job that perfectly suits my desired level of work (very little) and my desired amount of hometime (at minimum every weekend). my current employer received an employment verification from the company i'm going to. they promptly call me asking what they can do to keep me. i simply reply “pay me more.” after a lengthy pause, a meek “well i'll ask and see what exactly we can do for you” is returned my way. dear reader, we both know that they're not going to pay me more, so fuck em. also, salute to this new company for putting the compensation and benefits in the job listing.
