The University of Missouri is stripping my PTO time and nearly 17,000 others by 10 days. Compared to other SEC and AAUP universities we are already at the bottom of the barrel.
Below is our current PTO program. For example I am exempt and have worked at UM for less than 5 years. I accrue 17 vacation days, 12 sick days, and 4 personal. For a total of 33 days. The new model below this shows I will obtain 23 days total.
Don't let the short-term disability and parental/caregiver leave fool you. That is referring to FMLA which is unpaid unless you use your PTO time. No changes there.
The Curators held a 4 hour meeting today and was available for stream. The whole thing was disgusting. From “when I talk to other business owners they tell me it's NUTS we pay people NOT to work on holidays” to what seemed like tip-toeing around saying something unseemly about pregnant women? What the fuck was all that? But this is what we get when the people in charge of public services have a vested interest in destroying public services (it sounds like the “business owners” on this Board would like MU to be less attractive to employees they're trying to hire, too).
