I won't give details but they lost the civil court case, are hiding the shitload of money they have from owning three restaurants and multiple cars/properties and now are filing for bankruptcy. Their children all worked in the restaurant too.
I used to work there as a waiter (15-17yo) and saw a lot of sketchy shit go down. The kitchen staff talked about the most bizarre and horrible topics routinely. Now I have a pretty filthy sense of humor (hence Reddit) and would joke with them often but there's some stuff you don't say in a workplace.
One of the chefs was an apprentice since he was 16 (18 when I knew him) and got smacked in the ass with a ladle by another chef. He giggled and laughed it off but I had to pass him and said “don't even think about it.”
Surprise surprise he did it.
I went to swing on him and stopped myself. I realised it was all on camera and knowing my luck I'd be the one fired and sued. I went to the bosses (the couple) and said I was formally handing in my two weeks notice (I was moving anyway) but I needed the extra money.
I said they had one chance to sort it out before I go (quite literally) next door to the police station for sexual assault of a minor. The guy never worked with me again. Don't know what happened to him.
Now I ask because I know they've had kids before and after me. The restaurants were fine dining and used to serve the richest and most powerful in town (think names on stadiums type). I think you know what I'm thinking.
Should I say anything?
