My experience in small town Ohio.

Moved to nice small town in Ohio from the Milwaukee area. Was offered a union production job via computer interview. They blatantly lied about what I would be paid. So I quit. I went across the street to weld. I have 10 years experience. The HR manager stated she did not have power to adjust starting wages. It was $16 an hour. Take it or leave it. There was no management, no quality. Just walk in. Do a shit job. And leave. Family owned. Daddies girl “runs” it and also has a second job. No processes. All the paint runs and drips on all the finished products. Nothing fits. No prints are up to date if you can even get prints. So I quit. Found a place that welds and fabricates intricate grainery weldments. Again I have 10 years experience. They wanted me to work 70 hours a week at…

They wanted me to work 70 hours a week at $14.75 an hour. I worked one day and quit.

Went to a local company. Hired as a machine operator at a place that processes frozen meat into patties. Decent pay! I started, there's no set end time. I dumped 60lb boxes of meat or pitchforked 2000lb Gaylord's of meat all day. Didn't operate machines. Learned their turnover was 600% last year, their quality and cleaning sucks, their benefits are horrific. different daddies girl and his wife (he passed last year) run this place. She thinks she knows everything and is so great cuz that's what daddy told her, yet her 12 year old regularly works on the line because they can't get or keep anyone. Worked two weeks, quit for potentially better opportunity doing maintenance at a high end old folks home. I told the line lead I quit at break and walked after two weeks. A lady who has been there three months who did my 15 minute “orientation”, had me learn someone's job so I could cover for them the next day, on my first day, well she accosted me at church today. Cornered me in a hallway. On Easter. At the church where my dad is the lead pastor. Their handbook literally says it's against the rules to discuss the solicitation of memberships fees or dues, this is illegal!oh and even though I was a new hire, I only got a handbook cuz I asked for one, because they are updated it…(removing benefits). This and even more I just don't have the time or energy to get into… And this lady that does orientation fed me crap at church!!! I'm a full grown man!

All this in a great, nice, low crime, christian town where the cost of living is higher than outside Milwaukee, but the pay is worse. I am insanely over all the B.S. I have a bachelor's and a master's in business. It doesn't mean anything.
Lividly pissed with my experiences so far for only being here 5 months and already testing the major employers.
