I worked for them a few months and left because the pay was too low for me and I had my own consulting practice taking off.
I introduced my friend to them because they had financial issues and weren't happy with their accountant, she is a top notch financial consultant.
What happened is that she worked with them for months and had numerous issues dealing with the CEO,
. She is absolutely professional and delivered what she could given that her work depended on other people and the CEO delivering the information she required. They wouldn't and after a while she grew tired of the lack of understanding for the importance of accurate bookkeeping. She had other gigs so she left and politely emailed them explaining why and what were the steps they needed to take.
The CEO insulted her and turned abusive, spamming her email. Also they did not have a notice in place and she didn't end without doing the hours required in the payment.
They were paying her with Stripe and now they sent her a charge back for 8k. This is a single mom that works really hard and at no point they even told her they might do this. The CEO liked her work so much at one point that he was asking her to join his own company as a consultant later on. But she is a very independent woman and doesn't play nice or is bullied. He grew tired of her not being compliant to his every whims.
I have seen this behavior before and if a company can mess with the payment of a consultant whenever they feel we didn't obey the right way, they'd be cutting from our paychecks even more than they already do. We are all struggling and this is a lot of money, it's evil to do something like this.
We are hot American so I didn't even think something like this could be done.
She is presenting all proof that she can to dispute this, if anyone can offer any advice we appreciate it.
