My husband lost his job because his manager did not like him

Hi everyone, need to do a little rant on horrible managers. Me and my husband recently moved countries and started fresh. He applied for roles and things seemed to be going alright as he secured a job quickly. Well, his new manager soon showed how incompetent he was and should never lead or manage people. It first started when after my husband tried to do the job that he thought he had assigned to do and there was a lot of push back from said manager. Like pretty much blocking him and micromanaging everything and not letting him do his job properly. 2 months in and after talking to the CEO multiple times and finally my husband found out that the role he signed up to do isn't actually what they want him to do, but for the whole 2 months nobody had managed to let him know that.

Only beating around the bush and straight up bullying by the manager, who was unable to give a coherent answer. For 2 months.

As you can imagine it was a very stressful situation. Well, after he finally gathered what was expected at him he started working towards his target and reached half of it in a week. Which, for some reason his manager didn't like either. My husband took a week off after that and when he returned this week, while being on the job for 3 months, the CEO and the manager tell him that they don't have a need for him anymore.

Even then it was conflicting information. The CEO said that they are terminating the role as it has no value for the company and the manager said that he lacks skills and knowledge for the role. Even though in a week he actually knew what he was doing he managed to reach half of his target set for the probation period. I mean, maybe he would have the knowledge if you had told him what he actually needs to do?!

So they ended everything 1 month before the probation period was set to finish, because of the managers incompetence and the CEO's lack of spine. Later he found out that he is the 3rd person who has left this specific role.

It is so funny how such people get so far in life, literally no straight answers only bullying and yelling. The CEO as well, seems like he has surrounded himself with yes-men and the company has a very “boys club” atmosphere, where if you don't get along with somebody close to the CEO you will lose your job.
