I work for a major retail company at a Distribution Center (warehouse). On 05/23 i got injured due to another employee breaking basic company guidlines. Said company claims that they filed a workman's comp claim, but according to Arizona's industrial commision they have not. They have sent my information to Sedgwick, but have told the insurance company that I've not missed any work and there is absolutly no restrictions. However the “urgent care” that the company demanded I see gave them LIGHT DUTY work restrictions.
The company failed to abide by these light work restrictions, and as such I reinjured/worsened my condition on 06/11. I was told to complete my work sitting down after this. On 6/12 I fell in the warehouse, and was subsequently given the choice to stay and risk further falls and injuries, or go home. I suggested I be seen at the er, to which they urged i go back to the urgent care facility the following day, and told me if I felt i needed an ambulance, it would have to be called off site.
I ended up calling the ambulance at the gas station across the street from them. A CT scan has revealed a pinched nerve caused by Digenerative Disc Disease. I have reached out to an attorny who says we have to wait until the Industrial commision denied my claim
Any further advice is appreciated.
p.s Fuck Capitolisim and Fuck the process.
