My job asked me to quit. I got to work and they called me to their office. They said my accommodations are too wide spread for them to accommodate. That I need to be able to stand and lift things

They told me I can either A) take a leave of absence or B) Terminate my own employment. I was panicking because I'm barely paying rents as it is. I was afraid I'd end up homeless next month.I decided to do leave of absence because I felt that was the smart idea.

I had no option to stay working there. I had almost been working there for a month. I noted on my application that I had a disability.

Lifting was not required on my cashier application. Standing was, unless you had accomodations and I did have accomodations. When I started working they were super understanding and wanted to accommodate me until they started seeing the symptoms of my illness and disability. I use a cane and now a wheelchair

A week later my job called me and the HR lady said she wanted to explain why my accomodations were unreasonable. She said that my doctor noted stated I “needed to have time off when I needed to” I couldn't have that because I hadn't been working there for 90 days. I explained she was asking not a demanding. They said I could come back when I have my doctor send another note. She on vacation for 2 weeks so I'll have to wait until then

I had sent an email to HR and I guess they panicked because I had asked for documentation on the meeting and stuff. I'm still going to careful just in case they try to find a reason to fire me. I will also be looking for another job because I feel like the environment will be very hostile with management.

Just to mention I live in Massachusetts. I'm reporting them to the EEOC. What can I do about this? Is this a potential discrimination suit? I'm going to keep asking for documentation of the incident so I can have it for evidence.
