apparently i forgot to clock out today for a 10 minute break today, (which i clearly remember doing) so my manager walks up and tells me i'm getting written up and docked 40 minutes of pay because apparently I was outside for 40 minutes on the clock, and got accused of “stealing company time”. the fuck? stealing company time? 10 minutes of precious time? this is a 3 star hotel, with rooms costing well over 200 a night. im pretty sure they can afford 10 minutes of lost time.
i was outside for 5 minutes, throwing trash away. the other 5 minutes was a smoke break.
i am a housekeeper at the hotel, getting 14 dollars an hour. this is two dollars more than minimum wage in the state where i work. they also included in the write up that i was not helping a fellow coworker with their job, which was laundry, which I DID NOT sign up for. nobody helps me, so why would i help them?
i mean, the job isn't bad, really. as a matter of fact i sort of enjoy it. it is just the management that fucks it all up. even my coworkers despise the way they do things around there. to me it just seems like a power trip.
to be honest, i am just simply tired of waking up every morning, 6 days a week, to go to work and getting sub-par paychecks so i can pay my bills on time and keep my lights on. with winter approaching, i don't doubt if i will end up with even more debt than i already have for simply being alive.
this is why i job hop.
this may seem like a senseless ramble, but this shit really urked me.
