I’ve been working at a tax office since 2020 and holy shit. My boss jumps the gun often and there are large portions of the year where I sit around doing nothing. My boss acts like it’s my fault if he walks in on me doing nothing during these months, acting like tax season doesn’t last only around 4 months. The previous two tax seasons have been extended, sure, but it’s looking like this one won’t be. My coworkers treat me like garbage, leaving my desk in complete disarray and getting upset when I ask them for help with something. Today, I broke. I made a mess on the floor with a coworker in the room. They watched me (mostly) clean it up and didn’t bother to help or offer help, and after I left, my other coworker texted me asking why I never let anyone else know about the mess. I do not get paid enough to care about this bullshit. It’s all gotten so stressful and sucked my soul out of me to the point that I can’t enjoy anything anymore. I used to be very passionate for art, music, video games and the like, but the stress of working for my boss plus my coworkers treating me like dirt has stressed me out so much that it’s completely killed my passion for anything.
