My Job is requiring us to be on call all weekend unpaid

I live in south Texas. I just got a job in the front office of a HVAC company. It's pretty small, about twenty people all together. My boss is the owners sister. I have two issues with this company. Rules and guidelines on what we need to do changes on a whim, then they tend to get upset if you do it wrong. Example is being told not to book a certain situation one day, the next they want you to book it and get upset you didn't. Mind reading wasn't a skill I had when I got hired, sure as hell isn't one I've obtained in the month I've worked there. Second issue is they want us to be on call all weekend without being paid. I'm hourly and so is another girl. When I got hired they said very casually that on Saturday we are on call only…

Second issue is they want us to be on call all weekend without being paid. I'm hourly and so is another girl. When I got hired they said very casually that on Saturday we are on call only if a recent install has issues. Outside of that we are not to worry about anything. They offer 20 dollar if you book someone. I was okay with that because I rarely do anything on Saturdays and we could rotate the weekends.

Well, it's turned into now we have to be on call all weekend, we have to book leads, and they will be extremely upset if at 10 pm you miss a lead that comes through. We can't get the program to complete jobs and dispatch them on your phone, so you have to be near a computer. Last night I went to the beach at 10pm to wake up to a sassy email that I missed a lead. I understand if our boss want those hours since she is salary, but I'm an hourly worker who's not getting paid.

Is this illegal to do? What are my options since they refuse to put anything down in writing? I'm going in tomorrow to discuss this and I'm also looking for another job to be honest.
