So as a preface, I work one on one with kids. Everyday we have a certain number of kids that we bounce around to during our shifts.
We know who we have in advance because we are all issued i pads with our roster of kids for the day, this is how we know who we have and when.
My job hasn’t always been the best with notifying us the employees when a kid is going to be out, sometimes it’s not their fault cause kids just don’t show up (sometimes it’s parents fault) leading to employees waiting for kids who get cancelled out for the day (we do get paid waiting hours)
Recently though I’ve run into a problem, I will know a kids not gonna be there via parents and coworkers telling me they will be out for a bunch of reasons, this has led to me assuming that since that particular kid isn’t there that I could sleep in or relax….
Last two times I tried to do that however, I have woken up to them calling me telling me that, surprise surprise, I have a completely different kid and I wasn’t told about it at all!
These kids aren’t on my schedule when I go to bed, but my job says that since they didn’t cancel out the kids I was supposed to have at the time that I should’ve still come into work in order to be rerouted!
Well currently I’m at my limit! Today I was supposed to have this kid but I was told that he had a doctors appointment and wasnt
Coming in. So, I planned to sleep in. I just got a call from my job waking me up and instead of answering, I ignored it and checked my schedule, surprise surprise, in an hour they scheduled me with two completely different kids that they didn’t tell me about at all and I didn’t have them when I checked my schedule last night! Well I’m not going, and if I get fired I get fired, I’m done.
