my job promoted someone who can’t do their job over me

I have been consistently working 12 hour shifts, doing extra work while injured, covering my fellow coworkers, signing myself up to work short days and sacrificing my time and best efforts into this job. I don't want to kiss my own ass, but I put time effort and personal funds into my job because I believe in working with pride, especially in my job where I'm helping my community; and after all my efforts for a year my coworker was promoted over me. She has had a history of an inability to do her job; sudden last minute call outs, bare minimum to nothing work ethic, caught multiple times leaving sidework for others, or leaving her shift early all together; crying in the breakroom because someone spoke loudly to her leaving me to tend to her work. I feel incredibly discredited as a worker, and honestly I'm fuming. She has been here for 8 months at most.
