My mother works through excruciating pain. How can I help her?

So my Mother has developed really bad arthritis and bone spurs and god knows what else, anyway, she's always in pain. Sometimes the pain is so bad that she can barely sleep. She only has three sick days a year, and I'm sure a massive deductible, both of which make seeking more advanced treatment difficult. She also has a fairly long commute (over 1.5 hours, over 2.5 hours with traffic, which is often) and when she gets home most days she's on the verge of tears from the pain, and she mostly just climbs into bed because she has to get up very early to get ready for work. I feel like I'm watching her go through Hell. How can I help her? I've talked to her about working from home, which she could easily do. How can she go about demanding that from her employer? What else can I…

From information sake, she can't just quit. Her field (estimation work for glass window-door company) is very niche in our area, she does not feel confident she could find anything close to what she makes now. She is also rather old, so security in a field that's becoming ever increasingly tech-driven is hard to come by.

Please, I just want to help my Mom not be in pain all the time.
Thank you.
