My neighborhood has a new local coffee shop that will probably fail within a year. How do I know this?

My neighborhood has this major road with a walkway and bike path that takes you right to the local public transit hub. This is where people take buses and trains in to the nearby city to go to work. People like coffee in the morning, so having a coffee shop in this area should be a win-win, right? Well, this coffee shop is a block away from the main road. If it were on the main road you'd have tons of foot traffic. But in order to get there you have to cross a busy intersection, go off your route, wait in line, and then cross the intersection again to continue your walk. Oh yeah, the coffee shop is also about 10 minutes away from the actual hub, it's not like you can just get coffee and then hop on a train. The other hint? It's only open from 8AM-1PM…

It's only open from 8AM-1PM Monday-Saturday.

The sign of a food business that doesn't have its shit together is weird hours like this. It'll probably cost them too much money to stay open any later because they have weird overhead, or they're so unsuccessful that little things like keeping the lights on too long will eat into their profits.

And besides that….They only open at 8AM??? Most peoples' jobs start at 9AM, and the city is a good 30-45 minutes away. I know when I go to work at this transit hub I'm trying to get there by 8. So by the time I'm walking by this cafe it's not even open.

The coffee shop has resorted to guerilla marketing, where they'll draw arrows in chalk on the sidewalk pointing to where the coffee shop is. No clue how successful that is.

Will update as I hear more about this company.
