So, for some background. A, my first boss, was absolutely fantastic! The best boss ever. She even offered to switch stores to keep S(current boss) from being fired. S did a shitty job at the [store] closest to my place of residence and ran it into the ground and is trying to do the same at the one I work at. She told me to “just do” a bunch of things that went against everything I knew and had been taught.
But I did it. I did exactly what she wanted of me, grumbling to my self about it being against the rules, but I did everything she wanted me to do.
While coworker was on break and I was handling everything in the store, S calls and yells at me for “not doing what she asked.”
The phone call went like this:
S:”What's the problem?”
Me:”idk what you mean.”
S: “what's the issue?”
Me: “The U-boat, I guess? I've been working this one for a few days and nothing can actually go out.”
S: “well, I need you to do what I told you to do earlier.”
Me: “I have been?”
S: “hey hey hey, don't get loud. Just put [the products] on the sky shelf like I told you to do before.”
Me:”That's what I have been doing.”
S: “JUST Put [products] On The Sky Shelves.”
Me:”I have been.”
S:mostly incoherent
Me: noise of confusion
S: yells and I start shutting down
Me: “stop or I'll put in my two weeks.” hangs up
Obviously, this wasn't the best thing to do but it was all I could think of before I took five to get myself under control.
Whe C(coworker) got back from break, I told her that I really messed up and wanted to know how to take back an accidentally two week notice and did so.
I think that's what caused the start of the shitshow. But she just would /not/ leave me alone afterwards. Keep in mind I had, not only things that needed to be done but customers to wait on. I am not supposed to be on the phone while waiting on customers. So I have to pick up and tell her to wait because I have customers. This makes her mad. I had one, right after she called and chewed me out for picking up the phone, ask about it bc she heard it. So I told her “the boss wants me to pick up when she calls, but now she wants me to not to because of customers? I guess?”
And S heard that over the phone and chewed me out for being honest, only after hanging up and calling another three times during the transaction.
At that point I was in tears because I hadn't been able to get anything done,was getting yelled at for things I couldn't help, and just wanted to go home.
S called in N so N could replace me for the last hour of work. And before I left, called my personal phone to tell me that I was fired.
Unbeknownst to her she was on speakerphone because I knew she was gonna pull some sht.
S:”it is my pleasure to tell you that you are no longer a [store] employee!”:)
Me: “you know that this is an unlawful termination, right?”
S:”yep! I have ev-everything right here. You are fired.”
Me:”Okay. You know that you're on speakerphone, right?”
S:immediately hangs up*
N and C plus some customers all heard the final exchange.
Tomorrow S has an inspection tomorrow, I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize her or anything, but if they ask I'm not gonna lie.
