My Observations of the Director of a Children’s Program

When I worked at a program for youth, the Director spent approximately 95% of her time in her office. She was deliberately disconnected from the rest of the activities. She didn't help with planning, providing any sense of overall responsibility, and she didn't really understand her own programs. That was mostly left to the very underpaid staff to figure out. Her dysfunctional decisions caused many issues for the staff. Meanwhile, on the program website, the Director is featured in complimentary, staged photos with her staff. She humblebrags about how important quality education is for children. She also states that she spends a great deal of time with her team and the students. In addition, she holds various community leadership positions related to her job status. Just…. how?
