my partner is a poll worker for election day and they tried to tell her she didn’t get a break

Basically what the title says. My partner went to work at roughly 4:30 this morning and was due back at 10:30 tonight. Sometime around 12pm she started to get tired and hungry and uncomfortable. She wanted to come home for 30 mins to change her clothes and eat something for lunch (we live less than 5mins away from where she was) SHE WAS TOLD THAT SHE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE PREMISES FOR ANY REASON UNTIL THE END OF HER 14 HOUR SHIFT. This is in New York State. In the past she was a poll worker in a different county where they gave her two hours for break. One at lunch time and one at dinner time. She's currently on the phone with the board of elections for the state and trying to figure out why things are run this way. She is also going to be reporting…
