Not everything this world is about money but I will say my partner does make pretty good money especially since she works as customer support for a medical device. I think last year she grossed a little over 50,000 with only a little bit of overtime and she has pretty good benefits.
Her boss sent her a thank you card in the mail the other day because her and her co-worker worked together to help a patient that went critical. Well I understand that a lot of people don't want pizza parties or pats on the back and they just want to be paid more money. But having a manager go out of their way to express thanks and gratitude is something we don't see enough of.
Find a company that pays you well and treats you well then things like pizza parties and appreciations go a lot further.
