My previous job was a hell hole

It was in a postal service, sorting incoming packages. I worked a rotating shift where one week was night shift, the next was day shift, and then morning(like 5am). This really fucks with sleep. A few times I managed to be 2-3 minutes late for the morning shift so I was summoned by the boss and get yelled at. Everyone would get yelled at for minor things. This constant abuse was fuel for changing my life, so I would spend every waking hour learning about programming. I had a real good friend/colleague in this job and we were often joking around during night shift (while doing our job). The shift manager suddenly yelled at us and told us to shut the fuck up. He went on to put us on different shifts. This was it for me. I tore a piece of paper and wrote my written notice. Left without…

Left without goodbye and never looked back.

After being unemployed and poor for some time I finally landed a job and now I’ve been in the web dev industry for 7 years. Yesterday I was 13 minutes late for work and my boss was like «good morning!» and made no comment.

I just remembered how it used to suck, but now I’m in a middle ground where I can transition to a work free life, but don’t hate my current life.

Stay strong out there
